About Becoming Man

BECOMING MAN is a movement of God, birthed in the heart of Pastor IV Marsh. It is centered around returning men to their proper purpose on the earth; something that is so needed in our culture today. You don’t have to look very far back into the annuals of American history to see that honorable men are disappearing before our very eyes. Honorable men who demonstrated true masculinity. Men who were a man’s man, a man who not only demonstrates the physical qualities of ruggedness but who also possess mental toughness and emotional strength. A man who says what he means and means what he says. A man who recognizes the importance of honesty. A man of noble principle. A man without covetousness. A man who cannot be bribed or bullied. A man committed to manly virtues. A man who is the head of his home and knows how to control and discipline his children. A man who loves justice but also knows tenderness and mercy. A man who fears God and shows reverence for that which is sacred. A man who knows the difference between the rule of law and the lust for power. On the whole, our society today has little tolerance for such men. Even in our churches, masculinity is dying. BECOMING MAN seeks to reverse the current trend in our culture as we take men on a journey of self-discovery and self-mastery.

Becoming Man Level Requirements

The Becoming Man Level Requirements are designed to guide men along the path of transformation into a mature son of God. At each level, there are requirements intended to display the attributes of Christ: Prophet, Priest, King, and Warrior. While one could certainly progress mechanically through the levels with no heart change, this is not the intent. Our deepest desire is that we all be transformed into the likeness of Jesus. 

 

As you grow, year by year, living the 7 core values and 14 virtues, we pray that you will recognize a legitimate transformation in your life as you become like Christ as Prophet (teaching the word), Priest (serving those in your garden), King (managing kingdom resources well), and Warrior (protecting everything entrusted to your care)

 

 

LEVEL 1: JOURNEYMAN

Any man who either attends an Becoming Man sanctioned event or reads the book “Becoming Man” is then a participant in the Becoming Man Movement. At this point, these men are eligible to be a part of the private Becoming Man Facebook page and encouraged to begin the pathway to level 2.

LEVEL 2: WARRIOR SHIRT

You will see some men wearing shirts with WARRIOR emblazoned across the front chest. To reach this level, and to have the honor of wearing one of these shirts, you must accomplish all the following:

 

  • COMPLETE THE WARRIOR SHIRT APPLICATION AND PAY THE $100 APPLICATION FEE (opens annually before the Conference).
  • COMPLETE AN INTERVIEW WITH THE BECOMING MAN BOARD.
  • COMPLETE A FREEDOM SMALL GROUP AND ATTEND THE FREEDOM CONFERENCE.
  • ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF THE MID YEAR TERRA FORMA GATHERING.
  • ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF EITHER THE GLOBAL SUMMIT OR THE BECOMING MAN NORTHEAST CONFERENCE.
  • DISPLAY THE IAM4 ATTRIBUTES THROUGH THE FOLLOWING:

PROPHET | understand prayer and have a consistent prayer/bible study time that includes journaling.

 

PRIEST | actively participate in a small group and actively serve on a church volunteer team

 

KING | consistently give a percentage of each paycheck to your church

 

WARRIOR | you must obtain and maintain good physical, mental, and emotional health (evaluation of this requirement is based on and determined by the age of the individual)

 

NOTE: BECOMING MAN WARRIOR SHIRT CAN BE REVOKED SHOULD ANY OF THE PREVIOUS EVER CEASE TO BE EXECUTED.

LEVEL 3: RING

To reach Level 3 and have the honor of wearing the Becoming Man ring, you must continue in your journey in manhood and accomplish the following:

 

  • COMPLETE THE BECOMING MAN RING APPLICATION AND PAY THE $200 APPLICATION FEE.

  • COMPLETE AN INTERVIEW WITH THE BECOMING MAN BOARD (BE PREPARED TO BRING YOUR JOURNAL TO THE INTERVIEW)

  • BE ACTIVE IN THE MOVEMENT FOR A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS

  • ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF THE MID YEAR TERRA FORMA GATHERING.

  • ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF EITHER THE GLOBAL SUMMIT OR THE BECOMING MAN NORTHEAST CONFERENCE TO RECEIVE YOUR RING CERTIFICATE

  • DISPLAY THE IAM4 ATTRIBUTES THROUGH THE FOLLOWING:

 

PROPHET | understand prayer and have a consistent prayer/bible study time that includes journaling.    

 

PRIEST | actively participate in a small group and actively serve on a church volunteer team.

 

KING | consistently tithe a minimum of 10% of your income to your church.

 

WARRIOR | you must obtain and maintain good physical, mental, and emotional health (evaluation of this requirement is based on and determined by the age of the individual)

 

NOTE: BECOMING MAN RING CAN BE REVOKED SHOULD ANY OF THE PREVIOUS EVER CEASE TO BE EXECUTED.

LEVEL 4: PENDANT

The final level of accomplishment on the Becoming Man journey is the seven-sided Becoming Man Pendant. The seven sides of the pendant represent the seven Becoming Man core values and virtues. To reach the Fourth Level, and to have the honor of wearing the Becoming Man pendant, you must accomplish the following:

  

  • COMPLETE THE BECOMING MAN PENDANT APPLICATION AND PAY THE $200 APPLICATION FEE.

  • COMPLETE AN INTERVIEW WITH THE BECOMING MAN BOARD (BRING YOUR JOURNAL TO THE INTERVIEW AND BE PREPARED TO READ AN ASSIGNED SCRIPTURE AND TEACH TAKEAWAYS TO THE IAM4 BOARD)

  • BE ACTIVE IN THE MOVEMENT FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS

  • ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF THE MID YEAR TERRA FORMA GATHERING.

  • ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF EITHER THE GLOBAL SUMMIT OR THE BECOMING MAN NORTHEAST CONFERENCE TO RECEIVE YOUR PENDANT CERTIFICATE (PENDANTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT AN AWARDS CELEBRATION AFTER THE CONFERENCE)

  • DISPLAY THE IAM4 ATTRIBUTES THROUGH THE FOLLOWING:

PROPHET | understand prayer and have a consistent prayer/bible study time that includes journaling, and hold a position of leadership at some capacity within your church.

 

PRIEST | be actively serving on a church volunteer team at a minimum of twice per month, as well as, participate in community service at a minimum of once per year.

 

KING | manage the resources of your home effectively, consistently tithe 10% of your income to your local church and keep your household finances in order by having at least one month’s cost of living in a savings account, give at least $1000.00 annually above the tithe as an offering to your local church

 

WARRIOR | you must obtain and maintain good physical, mental, and emotional health (evaluation of this requirement is based on and determined by the age of the individual)
